None of the basics we cover here will help if you have no database to market from.  These tips will work with any database, we &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;recommend&lt;/span&gt; this &lt;a href="http://businessesdatabase.com/"&gt;business database&lt;/a&gt; for it's inclusiveness and low price point.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Once you have your business database, putting together a marketing campaign is your next challenge.  With these tips in mind, you can increase your return on investment regardless of what kind of marketing or advertising you are putting together.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When advertising, the first rule is to make sure your product or service fulfills a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;perceived&lt;/span&gt; need.  Think about what that need is that your product or service will fill, and then revolve your marketing around that concept.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondly, your product or service needs to have a good &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;perceived&lt;/span&gt; value.  People like to feel like they got a great value.  Don't confuse this with meaning your product or service needs to be the cheapest on the market, it does not!  It just needs to have a good &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;perceived&lt;/span&gt; value.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Third, is  your product or service practical?  Practical is good, if your &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;software&lt;/span&gt; product will only run on old dos machines, it is not practical.  The more practical it is, or the more practical it is &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;perceived&lt;/span&gt; to be, the better.  Highlight this practicality in  your marketing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fourth, what makes your product unique?  Touch on this, point out the fact that your widget is the only widget available that will perform a certain task.  Highlight the uniqueness of your product or service, unique is good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fifth, think about your target &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;audience&lt;/span&gt;, and then think about what is appropriate for them.  Tailor your marketing so that it is appropriate for your customer.  This seems to be common sense, but it is surprising how many marketing campaigns are put together with no thought given to this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lastly, in your marketing, make a clear connection with your brand.  You want your brand to stay in your customers mind.  Think of some common jingles that you hear on commercials, or logos you associate with certain brands.  You want your marketing to clearly connect with your brand.
